Chapter 1: The Genius Scientist's Second Journey

In the bright blue sky, a Pidgey led a flock of Spearows darting across the landscape. On the grass, gentle wild Pokémon like Rattata and Oddish squinted their eyes and snored atop a large tree.

Under another large tree across from them, a boy who looked to be around ten years old stared blankly at the sleeping wild Pokémon, muttering to himself, “I can cross over two more times?”

That's right, this was Su Sheng's second crossing over. His first took him to the Pirate World, where he joined Dr. Vegapunk's technology team and achieved greater technological advancements than his counterpart. Unlike Vegapunk, who had cutting-edge technology yet wavered between loyalty to the Revolutionary Army and the World Government, Su Sheng's stance was quite firm: both the navy and pirates were damn no good!

Thus, after mastering all of Vegapunk's technologies, Su Sheng chose to collaborate with Sabo from the Revolutionary Army. Yes, it was a partnership with Sabo, not Monkey D. Dragon. Su Sheng always felt that the man with sandal tattoos on his face was unreliable; he was always sweating when trouble struck, with his subordinates captured and his close friends in dire situations. And yet, he never lifted a finger!

In the end, Su Sheng led his army of Seraphim, joining forces with Sabo and the four commanders of the Revolutionary Army, launching a full-scale war against the World Government led by the Celestial Dragons. The scale of this conflict was no less than that of the Marineford War.

Finally, when they reached the Empty Throne and faced the enigmatic Imu, who was neither clearly male nor female, Su Sheng was caught off guard and fell for a trap due to not understanding the opponent's abilities. Sigh, if only he had taken the time to study in the Pokémon world beforehand and learned how to prevent direct attacks from trainers, this wouldn't have happened.

But what Su Sheng never expected was that after crossing into the Pirate World and dying once, he could actually cross over a second time! This time, he found himself in the world of Pokémon.

“Goo goo goo~”

Just as Su Sheng reminisced about past glories, a thunderous protest arose from his stomach. “Speaking of which... it’s been two hours since I crossed over and I haven’t eaten anything.” Su Sheng patted his belly.

“Nah, nah, nah~”

As if hearing Su Sheng's stomach protest, an Oddish swung its Leaf Blade and precisely chopped down a fruit from the tree above Su Sheng's head. Several Pecha Berries landed right in front of him.

“Hmm? Is this for me?” Su Sheng's eyes lit up.

“Nah, nah, nah~”

The Oddish nodded with a smile.

“Yoshi yoshi~ What a good kid.” Su Sheng walked over, picked up the Oddish, and rubbed it affectionately. After asking which city was the closest, he gathered the Pecha Berries and waved goodbye to the Oddishes.

“What a wonderful place, like a utopia, completely different from that hellish world in my last life.”

As Su Sheng chewed on the Pecha Berries, he complained while heading towards the city. In the fanfiction he read in his previous life, the protagonists either became pirates or joined the navy after crossing over. But to Su Sheng, neither side was good at all. While there were a few exceptions, most were hopelessly rotten.

...

After walking for nearly an hour, Su Sheng finally arrived at this coastal city. “First, I should find an adult to ask what place this is,” Su Sheng thought to himself. He needed to figure out which region he was in. If it was Kanto, he planned to seek out Professor Oak, who was not Ash's dad but was even better than him. With the technology he learned in the Pirate World, it would be no problem to stand firm as an assistant beside that old man who loved instant noodles.

“Hmm, how about her?”

Su Sheng noticed an old lady by the street.

“Is that really... my Eevee?”

However, as Su Sheng approached, he heard the old woman’s voice tremble with extreme panic. Looking closer, he saw a shiny Umbreon crouching in front of her. It must have been her Pokémon.

Yet, as a trainer, the old woman held her hands in front of her, her legs trembling violently with fear, as if she would fall over at any moment. The Umbreon across from her was not faring much better. Seeing its beloved owner display such an attitude for the first time, it felt like its world was collapsing.

The old woman trembled and said, “This, this black skin... and, and red eyes... so, so unlucky... so terrifying!”

The Umbreon's pupils dilated, and its small body trembled as if it had been electrocuted.

“Tsk tsk... Looks like this world isn't as wonderful as I imagined,” Su Sheng thought to himself.

Just as the Umbreon was trying to comfort its owner and took a step forward, the old woman instinctively stepped back.

“Don’t, don’t come near me!”

That step left an irreparable rift between her and the Umbreon.

“Don’t, don’t come over... don’t come over...”

The old woman turned to run, but Su Sheng stepped in front of her first.

“Hey, ma’am, haven’t you seen an Umbreon before? That’s just one of Eevee’s evolution forms; there’s no need to be so scared, right? Isn’t black pretty cool?”

Su Sheng vaguely remembered how he had put in a lot of effort in his previous life to evolve Eevee into Umbreon while playing games.

“W-what Umbreon? Hurry, move aside! If you like it, you can have it!”

Saying that, the old woman rushed past Su Sheng without a hint of hesitation.

“Seriously? She doesn’t even know about Dark-type Umbreon?”

Su Sheng turned to look at the old woman’s retreating figure, then shifted his gaze to the Umbreon, who was hanging its head and looking ashen.

“Emmm... Little Black, why don’t you follow me for now? Later, when I figure out a way to make you revert back to Eevee, you can go back to your owner, okay?”

Su Sheng pondered for a moment before saying.

Upon hearing this, the pain on Umbreon’s face instantly turned to shock. This human child must be crazy, right? It had never heard of any Eevee evolution being able to revert back!

However, what Umbreon didn’t know was that after crossing over, Su Sheng’s scientific curiosity was starting to stir. He was eager to study the differences in powers between Pokémon and Devil Fruits. Evolution, of course, was also one of the projects.

“But during this time, you’ll have to help me find food, okay? I’m not like Monkey D. Luffy; I won’t work for free.”

Su Sheng then reminded her.

In his previous life, the reason he allied with Sabo against the World Government was not purely out of a sense of justice. More importantly, the World Government had turned its eyes on him after suspecting Vegapunk of treachery.

Although Su Sheng didn’t consider himself a great person, at least he was human. He didn’t want to get mixed up with those brainless fools.

If that were the case, it would be better to strike first. Thus, the alliance between Su Sheng and the Revolutionary Army to attack Mary Geoise was formed.

“Boo~”

After a while, Umbreon finally opened its mouth and responded.

Now that it was homeless, did it have any other choice?
