Chapter 2: Time Travel, but Too Early!

At night, in a dense forest, several people were camped out, with a makeshift tent set up next to a bonfire. Four individuals sat around the fire, all dressed in high-collared long robes, their pale and gloomy faces appearing quite eerie in the flickering light. Each bore some injuries, and after a prolonged silence, a black-haired man with a ponytail spoke up.

"If it weren't for this kid dragging us down, we would have finished already. I'm going to teach him a lesson!"

With that, he stood up and walked toward the tent, his hand resting on the long sword hanging at his waist, as if he were about to strike someone dead on the spot.

"Enough! This matter still needs the clan leader's decision. We are in a time of chaos; having one more person increases our chances of completing the mission."

An older man sitting in the middle interjected to stop him. Although he had little interaction with the person inside the tent, he felt helpless due to the other’s identity. After all, it was the clan leader who had asked him to take care of this guy, and even if he was useless, he had to look after him as much as possible.

Hearing the older man's words, the ponytail man felt a surge of anger but could not go against the leader's orders. Meanwhile, the man in the tent was slowly waking up.

"Where the hell is this? I remember I was drinking and walking by the river, then I slipped and..."

Feeling a sharp pain in his head and a soreness in his back as if he had been hit by a car, the man struggled to open his eyes, only to find no familiar ceiling above him. In the pitch-black space, he could faintly see the top of a tent made of burlap. He tried to lift his hand, only to find that he seemed immobilized, as if pressed down by a ghost. With a wave of pain in his head, he fainted again.

After a while, he was startled awake by a commotion outside the tent, and he felt strength returning to his limbs, allowing him to prop himself up with difficulty. Looking at his unfamiliar hands and clothing, and the samurai sword placed beside him, he recalled the memories he had just received and fell silent for several seconds.

"Seriously, I can really travel through time? And it's in Naruto? Fortunately, I still remember the plot pretty well. What’s with that guy, and why does this time period feel off?"

Indeed, the man was a fresh employee who had recently entered society, living a slacker life at work, but during a team-building event, he had drunk a bit too much. After drinking, he had slipped away to the riverbank, and under the influence of alcohol, he lost all sense of direction, stumbled, and fell into the water, ultimately losing his life. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself in the body of this unfortunate person.

"Uchiha Gin, is he from the Uchiha clan..."

According to his memories, it was the Warring States period, and it seemed that the founding of Konoha was still far off. At this time, the Uchiha clan had just signed a friendly agreement with the Yuhi clan to jointly combat the Senju clan. Their mission was to weaken the new forces of the Senju clan through an operation called "Eradication of Weeds," in which groups would specifically target the young members of the Senju clan, thereby creating a gap in their core strength.

The original owner’s name was Uchiha Gin, and both of his parents had died in the war. Because his mother was the current clan leader Uchiha Tajima's sister, he was taken in as an orphan by Uchiha Tajima. However, among the talented Uchiha clan, Uchiha Gin was rather mediocre, even considered somewhat useless.

At over twenty years old, he had been at a disadvantage in a competition against a ten-year-old clan member, ultimately suffering a crushing defeat. Reflecting on the memories of being beaten by a child, Uchiha Gin showed a strange expression.

“That kid was actually young Madara. If I could beat him, I could brag about it for life.”

After reviewing the original owner’s memories, Uchiha Gin began to analyze his current situation. It was the Warring States period, where there was no order; danger lurked everywhere, and swords were merciless. One misstep could lead to death. As an ordinary person who had just crossed over, Uchiha Gin felt that the key was to survive for now, as living to thirty in this era was already a luxury.

Based on the original owner's memories, Uchiha Gin attempted to run the chakra within his body, only to find that it flowed slowly like a snail, sometimes even flickering in and out. He also tried to mentally chant, "System, activate!!!"

......

After half a day without any response, Uchiha Gin opened his eyes and sighed.

"Talentless and without a system, what a disastrous start."

After some thought, Uchiha Gin decided to cling to the original owner’s connections. Uchiha Tajima, as the current clan leader of the Uchiha clan, was quite powerful. As his distant nephew, as long as he didn’t take risks, he should be able to live a few peaceful days until Konoha was established.

With that in mind, Uchiha Gin propped himself up and walked out of the tent. The three people by the bonfire who were dozing with their eyes closed noticed the movement and opened their eyes. The older man saw Uchiha Gin emerge from the tent and, with a sharp gaze, coldly said, "Come here."

Seeing that he could already move, he gestured for him to sit down, and the newcomer Uchiha Gin obediently took a seat opposite the older man.

"Uchiha Gin, for the losses caused by your mistakes during the day, I will report truthfully to the clan leader when I return. In the upcoming missions, you must not act recklessly; all actions must follow my orders.”

As he spoke, his narrow eyes flashed a hint of scarlet, and the aura of pressure surrounding him made Uchiha Gin feel somewhat breathless, but he still managed to nod in response.

"Three tomoe; this already counts as the top combat power of the Uchiha clan."

Looking at the three tomoe that briefly flashed in the other’s eyes, Uchiha Gin pondered that this mission would likely be quite challenging. The original owner had learned during the day that the Yuhi clan had already completed a significant task, and as a proud Uchiha, he naturally disliked the smugness of the Yuhi clan.

Thus, he decided to take the risk of penetrating deep into the Senju clan’s territory to find their mission target. Unexpectedly, before even entering the Senju clan's territory, he was discovered by an outer lookout, leading to an ambush by a team from the Senju clan. The original owner, being weak, was struck in the back with a powerful punch after just one encounter.

With his already lacking strength, he was sent flying like a cannonball for dozens of meters, hitting his head on the ground and fainting. Fortunately, the older man before him, their captain Uchiha Hōka, intervened just in time to save the original owner, allowing him to barely escape with his life.

It was this reckless behavior that earned him considerable criticism from the other team members. However, knowing Uchiha Gin’s identity, Captain Uchiha Hōka managed to suppress their anger.

"Were you this reckless, original owner?"

At that moment, a figure appeared before them, the ponytail Uchiha who had initially wanted to teach Uchiha Gin a lesson. It was his turn to take the night watch, and upon hearing that everyone in the camp had woken up, he hurried over. Seeing Uchiha Gin, who had already recovered, the ponytail Uchiha's expression twisted into a frown.

"Uchiha Gin, if it weren't for the captain protecting you, I would have burned your curly hair long ago. If you cause any more trouble, I’ll deal with you before the Senju clan does."

Hearing this, Uchiha Gin felt a pang of discomfort in his teeth, and glancing at the unfriendly gazes of the others, he felt overwhelmed.

"How much does the original owner need to be disdained?"

He glanced sideways at the large shuriken stuck next to him. Through the smooth edge, with the Uchiha clan’s superior eyesight, Uchiha Gin saw his current appearance for the first time.

A messy head of fluffy natural curls, a pair of dead fish eyes that seemed to invite trouble. Although enhanced by the Uchiha clan's genes, he appeared relatively handsome, but somehow the original owner’s look carried an aura of being troublesome.

"I'm sorry, everyone. I was reckless during the day. From now on, I will definitely follow your commands."

Under someone else's roof, one had to bow their head. Moreover, he hadn’t fully grasped the original owner’s powers yet, so it was best to keep a low profile for the time being.

"Ah????????"

Upon hearing Uchiha Gin's words, the others present were all shocked, exclaiming as if they had seen a ghost.
