Chapter 2: No Escape

"At the end of your rope, Yu Le!"

A burly man with a black beard stepped out from the crowd of Aurors blocking the way ahead.

Seeing that Yu Le had already come to a stop with the child, he raised his hand to signal his colleagues surrounding them to calm down.

At this point, there was no chance for the other side to escape, and he didn't want to provoke the anger of Durmstrang over a capture operation that was all but guaranteed to succeed.

The child was still wearing a school uniform.

"I think we can talk, can't we?"

The man with the black beard shrugged, twirling his wand in his right hand before casually tucking it into his pocket.

He slightly raised his head, hands clasped in front of his abdomen, and spoke to Yu Le in a somewhat sincere tone: "Stand down; the child is innocent. You wouldn't want him to see you being captured in such a disgraceful way, would you, Yu Le?"

David glanced at the Aurors in front and then around him; this time, it seemed that escape was truly impossible.

Not far away, the teachers from the school had already rushed over, their faces filled with anger.

"Fischer! I don’t care what important task you have!"

Durmstrang's headmaster Karkaroff angrily reprimanded the leading Auror and warned, "You are not allowed to cause a ruckus on my territory!"

"Sorry, Headmaster Karkaroff,"

The burly man shrugged innocently and then pointed at Yu Le, who was surrounded.

He explained, "It's him, Yu Le Roll, an internationally wanted criminal. We're here to apprehend him."

Karkaroff entered the encirclement with several professors, including Vice Principal Gilbert and Professor William, all holding their wands.

The headmaster first glanced at Yu Le and then turned to look at David Roll, who stood beside him.

Although he had long wanted this troublemaker to leave Durmstrang as soon as possible, it was certainly not under these circumstances.

David shrugged innocently, feeling just as confused as he was about what was happening.

"I don’t want to hear your explanation, Fischer."

Karkaroff ignored David's innocence and turned to the burly man with a frown, shouting, "You cannot lay hands on my student!"

"Listen to me, Headmaster Karkaroff!"

Fischer clearly did not want to provoke Karkaroff. He raised both hands in a gesture of peace and assured, "Our target is Yu Le; it has nothing to do with that child."

After saying that, he gestured to David, indicating that he could leave at any time.

Karkaroff and the others now looked at David, signaling him to come over quickly.

Even though this was the Durmstrang campus, they had no reason to stop the Aurors from pursuing a wanted criminal.

"Woof! Woof!"

The sunlight in the forest was already sparse, and the tense atmosphere hung heavily in the air.

The Aurors' hunting dog could no longer contain itself and began barking wildly at Yu Le and his nephew.

Fischer looked at Yu Le, and seeing that he still had no intention of surrendering, he frowned and warned, "You can't escape, Yu Le; just give up. At least you'll retain some dignity."

David looked at the headmaster and professors, then raised his head to look at his uncle Yu Le.

Yu Le, who had been silent, showed no signs of the tension of being surrounded; instead, he seemed a bit relaxed, as if he were enjoying the show.

When everyone turned to watch the uncle and nephew, he shrugged, leaned down to look at David, winked his left eye, and mischievously asked, "Want to see something fun?"

At this moment, couldn’t he act a little serious?

David wanted to remind his uncle that they were the ones surrounded by Aurors, not the other way around.

"What kind of fun? Playing with fire?"

"Are you ready?"

Yu Le paid no mind to his nephew's teasing, slowly reaching into his pocket while the Aurors looked on in surprise and anger, casually tossing out a dozen small bags.

The Aurors thought Yu Le was about to pull out his wand to fight back, but what came out was... a fortune bag?

They hesitated for a moment, but the Aurors' instinctive battle training kicked in, and they quickly pinpointed the most effective and powerful attacks against the incoming objects.

"Stop—!"

"Don't—!"

"How dare you—!"

Fischer and Karkaroff both realized that these were not ordinary bags and shouted warnings.

But it was too late; when the magical attacks struck the bags flying into the air, Pandora's Box was already destined to be opened.

Vice Principal Gilbert glared at Yu Le and shouted, "How dare you...!"

David had already anticipated his anger and the horror on the faces of the other professors. He could only shrug, indicating his innocence.

When the bags burst open, magical creatures erupted from them, filling the sky and causing chaos.

Snidget, Billywig, Erumpent, and Bowtruckle...

Of course, there were not just magical creatures below XXX level; David also spotted the figures of a harpy and a mountain troll.

How on earth did these things fit into the bags?

He stared in astonishment at the scene; it was truly... spectacular!

Yu Le certainly couldn’t just stand by and watch after throwing the bags; he feared the scene wasn’t chaotic enough.

At this moment, he pulled out several round balls resembling dung eggs from his pocket and handed them to David, signaling him to activate the mechanism and throw them quickly.

David looked at his uncle in disbelief; did they really have to go this far?

Seeing Yu Le was insistent, he could only comply.

When David threw the large shells forward, the situation spiraled out of control once again.

Boom—!

Boom—!

Boom—!

The deafening explosions rang out, and even the instigator, David, was momentarily stunned.

He twitched his mouth, looking at his uncle, who was still throwing alchemical bombs around, and numbly asked, "Why do I feel like their power has increased?"

"Oh, I forgot to tell you—"

After throwing the bomb in his hand, Yu Le turned back with a mischievous grin and explained, "This is Mary’s improved Thunder III; it’s my first time using it."

After explaining, he snatched the last two from David’s hands and hurled them at the weakest side of the explosion's smoke.

Alchemical bombs, a family heirloom of the Roll family, had been developed further in the hands of David’s mother.

Thunder II didn’t explode this loudly; he had tried it, and the smoke range was not this wide.

From the moment the first Thunder III exploded, the surrounding Aurors had already been scared out of their wits, all collapsing to the ground.

Only 600 Galleons a month; they all had families to support, it wasn’t worth risking their lives like this!

They were already exhausted from dealing with those magical creatures; if they were injured by the alchemical bombs, they truly couldn’t afford that.

The professors in the encirclement were the most furious, watching the magical creatures darting by and the smoke that magic couldn’t disperse; they feared that after this incident, the forest behind the school would become a Forbidden Forest.

Fischer, the director of the Auror office, shouted angrily, urging his colleagues to get up and fight quickly, while he rushed into the encirclement, wanting to catch Yu Le.

But the smoke had not yet cleared, and the magical creatures had scattered; the figures of the uncle and nephew had long since disappeared from the center of the encirclement.

All that remained were several deep pits created by the alchemical bombs and the bodies of the magical creatures killed by the Aurors.
