Chapter 5: Expert in Magical Creatures

“Sir, please ensure that our passengers are not being disturbed.”

The International Wizarding Flight Regulator noticed that the situation was beginning to affect other guests in the lounge, so he walked over.

He surveyed Fisher and the others, reminding the Norwegian Auror, “This area is already under the jurisdiction of the International Wizarding Federation.”

The Norwegian Auror glanced at Fisher, his expression showing both inquiry and caution; he lacked the authority to take the mother and son away, let alone use force here.

Fisher smiled slightly at the regulator and raised his notebook, explaining, “I just have a few quick questions.”

After saying this, he turned to David and said earnestly, “If you cooperate, I believe no misunderstandings will occur.”

“We're good people!”

Just as the regulator accepted Fisher's explanation and was about to turn away, David suddenly shouted this.

The regulator frowned again and looked over, seeing the tense atmosphere between the two sides, so he stepped in front of them.

The international flight area is not subject to the influence of regional Ministries of Magic, as stipulated in the International Wizarding Federation Confidentiality Act.

Seeing the regulator standing in front of them, Fisher had to rein in his attitude and struggled to control his temper as he said, “You’re lying, kid; who were you just with?”

“My uncle.”

David fearlessly acknowledged this fact without hesitation.

Fisher raised his eyebrows in surprise and pressed on, “And what do your father and uncle do? You must know that, right?”

“Of course I know!” David lifted his head slightly, speaking confidently. “They are both magical creature protection experts!”

“Goddamn—”

Fisher gritted his teeth, trying hard not to let the curse words slip out.

David, facing the twisted expression on Fisher's face, as well as the petrified expressions of the regulator and the Norwegian Auror, pursed his lips and emphasized, “That’s what my dad said.”

“Mrs. Rowl!”

The Auror raised his head to look at Mary, narrowing his left eye slightly to gauge her attitude.

But Mary's expression was unchanged, showing no sign of listening to him seriously or answering any of his doubts.

Fisher bit his lip in frustration and nodded angrily, then pulled out a newspaper from his pocket and opened it, pointing to a photo on it as he asked David, “So please tell me where your father and uncle, as magical creature protection experts, are, alright? Mr. Rowl!”

The photo in the newspaper was still moving; the background was the Durmstrang campus, with magical creatures running around and flying in the air, while professors, students, and Aurors were frantically playing hide-and-seek with them.

“Hey hey—”

David saw a Niffler carefully reaching into Professor Gilbert’s jacket pocket and couldn’t help but laugh.

Fisher could no longer tolerate the child’s mischievous attitude and was just about to explode when he saw a colleague rushing over from the door.

“Director, there’s been an incident!”

The accompanying Auror leaned close to his ear and whispered, “Colleagues tracking Yule have been attacked; we’ve lost contact, and their lives are uncertain.”

Fisher was extremely angry; not only was the other party unyielding, but they also dared to attack an Auror—truly…

He glared at David and his mother, wanting nothing more than to take them back and pry John’s whereabouts from them, then hit them with a Cruciatus Curse.

David noticed the fierceness in his gaze and helplessly spread his hands, replying, “I don’t know much more about my father than you do; I only know where he is through the newspaper.”

Fisher gripped the newspaper tightly, fearing he might not be able to refrain from slapping this troublesome child.

He had been played, yes, very thoroughly.

What had he just said?

Didn’t he say that his father and uncle were both magical creature protection experts? But what kind of newspaper would write about poachers like that?

“Wish you all the luck in the world!”

Fisher crumpled the newspaper in his hand and threw it on the ground, then stood up in anger, leaving behind a harsh remark as he turned and walked quickly towards the exit.

David looked at the Norwegian Auror who followed Fisher out, as well as the flight regulator, and then glanced at his mother.

Mary was now looking at her son with a pained expression, smoothing his hair.

“Let’s go home.”

“Okay, Mom.”

David replied with a smile, standing up with his mother. He looked at the crumpled newspaper on the ground and bent down to pick it up.

The unfolded newspaper was wrinkled, but the headline was quite alarming: “Gold Galleon Poaching Team Attacks Durmstrang.”

Oh, Dad is in the headlines again.

As he walked with his mother towards the boarding gate, he read the news.

Members of the World Dark Wizarding Association, International Dark Wizards Alliance, Poachers Alliance Committee, British Dark Wizard Society Council member, leader of the Gold Galleon Poaching Team, and the world’s number one wanted criminal—John Rowl’s team has struck again!

Earlier today, Yule Rowl, the third-in-command of the Gold Galleon Poaching Team, took a second-year student hostage at Armstrong Magical School and caused chaos with magical creatures.

However, reports indicate that the student is named David Rowl, the only son of John Rowl…

David raised his eyebrows in dissatisfaction upon reading this; he was still a kid, how could he make friends with such a headline?

What he just said to Fisher was actually the truth; he really didn’t know his father’s whereabouts because John was either being hunted or was on his way to causing trouble.

“Please show me your boarding pass.”

The flight attendant's formulaic smile and tone didn’t catch David’s attention at all. He turned to his mother and reminded her, “Dad’s title got longer~”

Mary handed the two boarding passes to the attendant and turned to glance at David with a mix of helplessness and concern.

“Thank you, please proceed this way.”

After checking the tickets, the attendant gestured for the mother and son to head to the jet bridge.

Seeing his mother’s concerned gaze, David smiled nonchalantly, indicating that he was already used to it.

Over the years, he had witnessed too many Aurors coming to investigate and had seen his father in the headlines too many times.

Oh, right, there was also his aunt and uncle; his third uncle had made it to the newspaper once, but he wasn’t the main character. This time he was the main character, and he must be thrilled.

In his seat, listening to the flight attendant’s announcements, David folded the newspaper neatly and turned to his mother, asking, “Is it hot in London right now?”

“It’s still a bit chilly,” Mary looked at her son and reminded him, “You need to wear a long coat, especially after sunset; it gets quite cold.”

“Alright~”

David tucked the folded newspaper into his carry-on bag. Collecting newspapers featuring headlines about his father or family members was a small hobby of his.

Of course, he wouldn’t want newspapers that weren’t headlines; after all, there were just too many, and he wasn’t a scrap collector.
