Chapter 2: The Demon of Blades?

“What the heck, so weak, wasted growing up so big.”

Reiner sighed in disappointment at the flame in his hand,

“I thought I could catch an elite monster; damn pathetic little loser!”

Reiner's Devil Fruit is the Zoan-type Mythical Beast, Human-Human Fruit, Necromancer form.

In addition to enhancing physical abilities and having three transformation stages, he can acquire others' body templates through contact, allowing him to create undead beings.

The attributes of the undead are completely identical to the templates, and although they cannot inherit the abilities of the Devil Fruit, they retain certain characteristics and techniques.

Unfortunately, the stronger the target, the more time it takes to collect their data, and he cannot collect data from those whose strength exceeds his by too much.

Otherwise, before setting out to sea, he could easily create an immortal version of Karp.

“I’ll wait for Zoro’s template; I’ve been eyeing him for a long time.”

Reiner pulled back his thoughts and glanced at the center of the playground in the distance, where it seemed no one had noticed him. He turned and walked toward the naval base.

After a round, he retrieved Zoro's sword and then called Luffy and Zoro to sneak away.

......

In the tavern of the small town.

“Burp~~, it really is outrageous to last a month.”

“By the way, are both of you ability users?”

Zoro leaned back on the sofa after finishing his meal, biting on a toothpick as he asked.

Luffy, with a smug grin, elongated his cheeks and said, “That’s right! I’m a rubber man who ate the Gum-Gum Fruit.”

“That’s understandable.”

Zoro nodded, then turned to Reiner, “Your ability seems a bit strange?”

“It’s actually not that complicated.”

Reiner tapped the ash from his cigarette, stood up, and placed a hand on Zoro’s shoulder, “Don’t move for now.”

As soon as he finished speaking, a green flame erupted from his palm, enveloping Zoro completely.

“What is this!?”

Zoro was startled and instinctively tried to break free, only to find the flames had no temperature, which calmed him down.

About three minutes later, the green flames retreated back to Reiner's hand, transforming into a flickering flame.

“The combined data is actually comparable to Luffy's? Even his arm strength is a bit higher!”

Reiner marveled at the information he felt from the flame in his hand.

But then he realized that it made sense; Zoro had trained hard since he was young, so it was understandable that his physical abilities could approach Luffy’s.

He couldn't help but take another look at Zoro; no wonder he was a swordsman— that terrifying wrist strength could probably only be matched by Arlong in the East Sea.

Reiner had long considered Zoro’s template. With a thought, a rift in space appeared out of nowhere.

A black figure slowly stepped out of the void.

It was over two meters tall, with a robust build, wearing a black hat and a black suit, draped in a long black trench coat.

If you didn’t look at the head, it would appear as a mysterious and stylish figure in black.

However, hiding under the hat was a terrifying face, with sharp fangs and a blood-red mouth, and a long knife piercing through its forehead extending forward.

Both hands also bore long knives, their tips dragging on the ground, glinting coldly, with no handles but merged into the arms.

Indeed, this was Reiner modeled after the “Devil of the Blade” from Chainsaw Man; although it only resembled him on the surface, Zoro happened to use three swords, making this template highly compatible.

“What is this thing!?”

Seeing the Devil of the Blade, Zoro exclaimed, “Wait a minute, you didn’t just pull this from me, did you?”

“Wahaha~~, so cool!” Luffy shouted excitedly with shining eyes.

This was why Luffy had fervently invited Reiner to join his crew after seeing his Devil Fruit abilities.

It’s hard to say how his brain developed, but the more bizarre things were, the more attracted he was to them.

“That’s right!” Reiner admitted straightforwardly:

“I am a Devil Fruit user, and through methods like just now, I can acquire others' body data to create undead.”

His ability allowed him to create various undead, but he could not deviate from the template characteristics; using a dog as a template to create a humanoid skeleton would result in it not being able to stand at all.

Only by creating based on the template can he maximize its power.

Reiner put away the Devil of the Blade. “Luffy, where should we go next?”

“Don’t know!”

Luffy, with a strong and carefree attitude, grinned, “How about you decide, Reiner? I don’t know my way around anywhere.”

Reiner: “......”

Zoro: “......”

“Is this captain really reliable?” Zoro muttered in disbelief.

Reiner remembered that in the original story, Luffy would next go to the town where Buggy’s base was located and meet Nami there, but he didn’t know what that town was called.

“Well, just point to one on the map.”

Reiner spread out the map, pointed to a spot, and said,

“We're here now; just pick a place nearby for our route.”

Reiner decided to rely on Luffy’s amazing luck; if they didn’t run into Nami, they could just head straight to Cocoa Village.

Zoro: “???”

Zoro slapped the table with a shocked expression, “Wait a minute! Your logistics seem a bit off, right?”

Reiner yawned and said, “Don’t be so startled; leaving the route to the captain to decide is nothing wrong.”

“That’s normally correct!” Zoro paused, “But are you guys normal?!”

Reiner awkwardly took the map and glanced at the place Luffy was pointing to.

“Serob Village?”

Reiner thought for a moment and vaguely remembered that this was Usopp’s hometown.

Just right to go and collect Kuro.

......

Soon, the three of them, having eaten and drunk their fill, left the tavern and arrived at the port.

“This is the ship you’re talking about?”

“Yeah, what’s wrong?”

“A pirate ship?”

Zoro looked at the small sailboat docked at the port, tied to a wooden post with ropes, stroking his chin in thought.

He was considering the feasibility of chopping Luffy down right now, then sighed, “Sigh~ I should have thought of that.”

Actually, this was much better than the small wooden raft Luffy originally planned to use; at least there was a cabin to shield from the wind and rain, and this was still bought with Reiner's saved money.

Being in charge of logistics on Luffy's ship really felt like being both a dad and a mom.

Meanwhile, in Orange Town where Buggy's pirate crew was stationed, a chase was unfolding in the streets.

“Stop, you bastard!”

“You little thief! Don’t run!”

A girl with short orange hair, a delicate face, and a petite figure ran while mocking behind her, “Come catch me, you fool!”

The girl’s name is Nami, a thief who specializes in stealing from pirates. Today, she snuck into Buggy’s hideout and stole the great route navigation chart.

The few pirates chasing her were Buggy's subordinates; they were lucky to have found Nami first. As long as they caught her, it would be a merit.

But……

“Damn it! How is she running so fast?”

“If we don’t catch her, the boss will be angry.”

Seeing the girl slowly pulling away, the pirates were extremely anxious; that navigation chart was a treasure their captain valued highly.

If they failed the mission, they would definitely be used as experimental targets for special cannonballs.

“Damn it, stop!”

As they chased to the port, the pirates watched helplessly as Nami jumped onto a small boat and slowly sailed away from the shore.

“See you~,” Nami playfully waved to the port, her hatred reaching its peak.

As they watched Nami gradually disappear on the sea, the pirates couldn't help but show despair on their faces.

“Damn it~~”
