Chapter 2: The Advantage of Orphan Beginnings

【Rewards Received—Perception Ninjutsu】

【First time completing a lesson, reward received—Appraisal Technique】

【First time completing a lesson rated A, reward received—Mastery of Fire Attribute Chakra Nature Change】

Receiving three rewards at once surprised Mu Yue a bit; he felt as if many memories suddenly flooded his mind, the most abundant being those related to practicing Fire Attribute Chakra Nature Change. Those memories felt incredibly real, giving Mu Yue the illusion that he was an old ninja who had spent a lifetime specializing in Fire Release.

“Teacher Yuhang, may I ask you a question?” Shisui respectfully inquired.

Upon hearing Shisui's words, Mu Yue, who was preparing to take another look at the panel evaluation, stopped and led Shisui to the back of an empty teaching building. He then used perception ninjutsu to sense the area, detecting no particularly strong chakra presence.

Feeling relieved, Mu Yue smiled and said, “Is it that part of the class you didn’t understand? Go ahead and tell me.”

Shisui shook his head and replied, “It's not about the lecture content; I have a question.”

“Teacher, you know that the Senju clan and the Uchiha clan jointly founded Konoha, but why does everyone now remember the Senju clan while the Uchiha's contributions are seldom mentioned?”

Though he was just a child, Shisui was exceptionally mature and sensitive. When he went out with his elders, he could sense the unusual glances from passersby directed at their clan emblem on their backs.

Clearly, both were founders of the village; why was it that the Uchiha not only had their contributions overlooked but seemed to be disliked by the villagers? Shisui didn’t quite understand.

Looking at the puzzled expression on Shisui's face, Mu Yue silently scoffed, “What kind of reputation did Senju Hashirama have in Konoha? What kind of reputation did Uchiha Madara have? Can they even be compared?”

“You should have only read some history from within the clan, right?” Mu Yue asked.

Shisui nodded; the history he could access was indeed only what the Uchiha provided.

“There were many events that contributed to the current situation, and it's hard to explain them clearly in a short time,” Mu Yue said, revealing a hint of difficulty.

Seeing Mu Yue's discomfort, Shisui felt a pang of guilt, as if the question was more complex than he had imagined. He initially wanted to drop the topic, but Mu Yue spoke again.

“Never mind, if you have time after school in the future, come find me, and I'll tell you about the history behind this.” Mu Yue sighed.

“After all, I should consider myself indebted to your Uchiha clan, so let this be a repayment of sorts.”

Shisui was a bit puzzled as to how Mu Yue could owe a favor to the Uchiha, so he directly asked.

“My parents were surrounded by the enemy during a war and were saved by a ninja named Uchiha Kagami. Although they ultimately died in the subsequent war, I have always remembered this life-saving grace,” Mu Yue said, looking grateful.

At that moment, he was glad that the original body had already become an orphan; otherwise, his room for maneuver would have been much smaller.

It must be admitted that sometimes the dead can be more useful than the living.

Shisui's eyes widened, an expression of disbelief on his face. Uchiha Kagami was indeed his grandfather. He never expected that he and Mu Yue shared such a connection, and he felt a wonderful sensation.

However, Shisui was not the kind of person who would seek to repay a debt of gratitude, so he kept it to himself and simply thanked Mu Yue.

Before Shisui left, Mu Yue gave him an appraisal.

【Name: Uchiha Shisui】

【Chakra: 500】

【Potential: SS-】

【Evaluation: Six Paths bloodline, suitable for practicing Fire Release and Genjutsu, with immense potential; recommended for apprenticeship】

As Mu Yue walked to his office, he couldn't help but marvel that Shisui was truly a remarkable person capable of activating the Susanoo with one eye; the two shining S's were indeed dazzling, even the system recommended taking him as a disciple.

Mu Yue then casually opened his own panel to check if there were any changes in his evaluation.

【Name: Yuhang Mu Yue】

【Age: 18】

【Chakra: 4300】

【Evaluation: Mastery of Fire Attribute Chakra Nature Change; the only limitation on your strength is your sparse chakra. If you can address this shortcoming, you would be considered elite among Jonin.】

“Looks like the mastery of Fire Attribute Nature Change is even stronger than I imagined,” Mu Yue thought he might have underestimated the significance of the word 'mastery.'

What he initially thought might only be equivalent to a Jonin's knowledge of nature change now seemed to suggest that, specifically regarding Fire Attribute Chakra Nature Change, he might already be at the level of the Third Hokage.

After all, aside from two Fire Releases, he only knew Body Flicker Technique, Body Replacement Technique, and a bit of ordinary taijutsu. At this level, after receiving the rewards and increasing his chakra, he could reach the elite Jonin level.

An elite Jonin should at least be at the level of Kakashi and Asuma at the beginning of the story, right?

His power had surged significantly, and Mu Yue was initially very happy. However, thinking about his identity within the Root, he couldn’t feel joy anymore.

First, the curse mark from the Root on his body made him feel very insecure; second, Danzo, that old man, liked to send his subordinates out on missions, which made him even more insecure.

“I need to quickly take on some disciples and boost my strength. Even if I can’t reach the level of killing Danzo and leaving gracefully, I must at least have the ability to protect myself,” Mu Yue set himself a short-term goal.

Upon entering the office, Mu Yue found three teachers already sitting inside—two men and one woman—who were complaining about their students to each other.

Mu Yue recognized all of them because the teachers had arrived early, and the original body had previously come to the school and met some colleagues.

He casually gave each of them an appraisal.

【Name: Chikyu Yu】

【Chakra: 2000】

【Potential: C】

【Evaluation: A mid-level ninja cannon fodder.】

The data for all three teachers was similar, all assessed by the system as cannon fodder.

“Sigh, I really am unlucky. How did Class 4-2 end up in my hands? I already have a Class 3-1 to manage.

How am I supposed to teach? There’s a Might Guy and an Uchiha Obito—the two big underachievers are all in Class 4-2,” Chikyu Yu said, spreading his hands in frustration.

“My family has even set me up on a blind date, and I need to meet someone tomorrow afternoon, which just so happens to be when I have Class 4-2.”

“Find a teacher who doesn’t have a class to help, or just take a leave of absence; after all, the blind date is more important,” Ueda Aya suggested.

At that moment, Ueda Aya noticed Mu Yue entering and smiled to greet him, “Teacher Yuhang, how did your first class feel? Did the little tips I taught you help at all?”

Mu Yue recalled that this enthusiastic female teacher had worried that as a new teacher, he might be nervous for his first lesson, so she had advised him to mentally repeat “carrots and cabbage” while teaching.

Mu Yue politely replied, “Thank you, the little tips were very useful, but after class, the students told me not to be picky about food.”

“Haha, Teacher Yuhang, you’re really interesting,” Ueda Aya laughed, thinking that the fact Mu Yue could still joke meant he had comfortably passed his first lesson.

“Teacher Chikyu, I don’t have class tomorrow afternoon; if you need it, I can help cover for you,” Mu Yue said, placing the lesson plan on the desk and adopting a friendly demeanor.

Unlike the other teachers, Mu Yue wished he could fill his schedule every day, especially since Class 4-2 had Obito and Guy, which he definitely wanted to check out.

Chikyu Yu's face lit up with joy, and he quickly expressed his gratitude, saying he would definitely treat Mu Yue to a meal when he had the chance.

......

In the Hokage office, the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, looked at the crystal ball showing Mu Yue seriously discussing the Will of Fire, stroking his goatee. He felt that this young man from the Root was quite good and understood the Will of Fire.

Danzo thought he was hiding well, but a portion of the ninjas cultivated by the Root who hadn’t made it onto the Root list had already been noticed by the Third Hokage.

However, the Third Hokage felt that Danzo was somewhat contributing to Konoha’s strength, so as long as he didn’t go too far, it was acceptable.

But the ninja school was something the Third Hokage took seriously, so he personally checked it out. To his surprise, this Root ninja's first lesson was about the Will of Fire, instilling a sense of responsibility in the students, which the Third Hokage found very good.

“Let’s see how he performs next; if he’s considered a talent, I’ll have him leave the Root.”

Mu Yue’s current performance was insufficient for the Third Hokage to request personnel from Danzo.

Although fundamentally, those in the Root could be considered his, he still had to take care of his old classmates' feelings.

Thinking this, the Third Hokage stopped using the telescope technique and began processing paperwork, preparing to inspect Konoha again in the evening.

......

After finishing his meal, Shisui began searching for Mu Yue's residence according to the location Mu Yue had given him.

Mu Yue's residence was in the southeastern part of Konoha, an area with sparse buildings, considered a remote region of the village, far from the main urban area.

Thanks to the fewer buildings here, Shisui quickly found Mu Yue's home, a single-story wooden house located in a simple yard.

As soon as Shisui entered the yard, he was stunned by the sight before him.
