Chapter 3: Teacher Mu Yue is Kind

After returning home, Mu Yue went to the bathroom and stuck out his tongue in front of the mirror. As Mu Yue expected, there was a black curse seal on his tongue, which was a necessary mark for every member of the Root organization to prevent tongue-related disasters. If Mu Yue remembered correctly, the effect of this curse seal was that as long as one spoke about specific matters, they would become paralyzed and unable to move.

The curse seal created by Danzo was obviously related to him and the information of the Root. This way, even if an organization member was captured or defected, they would still be unable to leak secrets. If that were all, it wouldn’t be a problem; he didn’t intend to leak any information about the Root. However, Mu Yue was concerned that this curse seal could be actively controlled by Danzo, which would mean a deadly weakness was in someone else's hands.

Mu Yue pondered carefully, trying to find a way to break the tongue curse elimination seal from the original work. "It seems that aside from Danzo's death, there are no other good solutions." However, after thinking it over, Mu Yue realized that no one in the original work had broken this curse seal. The Third Hokage might order the release of those who were supposed to leave the Root, but otherwise, the only way would be for Danzo to die, which would cause the curse seal to automatically lose its effect.

But Danzo was not like the squishy AD in a MOBA game, who would die even if he didn't take care of himself during a team fight. Danzo was very cautious about his life, usually staying holed up in the Root base, and he might even carry a resurrection coin, making him quite difficult to deal with. Mu Yue thought about his current strength and temporarily gave up on the idea of killing Danzo.

"I can only go find Orochimaru or study on my own," Mu Yue realized that at this moment, he only had two choices. In fact, it could only be counted as one choice because he couldn't reach Orochimaru's line for now.

Mu Yue glanced at the time, feeling that it was about time, so he activated his sensing ninjutsu and sensed that Shisui was approaching. Mu Yue stepped out, entered the courtyard, and thought to himself that Danzo still trusted the original owner quite a bit. He had activated sensing ninjutsu several times and hadn’t sensed any Root ninja monitoring him.

Just as he felt Shisui was about to come in, Mu Yue quickly performed hand seals, unleashing his chakra to the fullest, instantly creating a giant fireball eight meters high, which turned the training wooden dummy in the courtyard to ashes and scorched a large area of the ground. Just as Shisui walked into the courtyard, he happened to see this shocking scene and was amazed by Mu Yue's fire release skills.

The Great Fireball Technique was merely a C-rank fire ninjutsu, but the rank of ninjutsu was only determined by the difficulty of training it. Many Uchiha jounin liked to use the Great Fireball. However, Shisui was quite certain that even the jounin from his own family could not use the Great Fireball with such power, as they couldn’t convert a large amount of chakra into flames in such a short time.

"Teacher Yuharu, I’m sorry to interrupt your training," Shisui quickly apologized as he came back to his senses. "It’s no problem; I just finished as well," Mu Yue sighed and smiled as he invited Shisui into the room.

"Actually, the current state of the Uchiha clan is greatly related to your former clan leader, Uchiha Madara." Mu Yue poured two cups of water, handed one to Shisui, and kept one for himself, beginning to tell the story of the Uchiha. "You should know that Uchiha Madara defected, right?" Shisui nodded, "The clan’s history says that the clan leader left Konoha."

"If it were just leaving, it wouldn't have turned out this way," Mu Yue explained to Shisui that if it weren't for Hashirama's strength back then, Konoha might have been destroyed by Uchiha Madara. Shisui fell into silence. But Mu Yue told Shisui that the matter was far from over.

This incident led to the Second Hokage, Senju Tobirama, who already disliked the Uchiha, becoming even more wary of them. Therefore, after becoming Hokage, he formulated many policies specifically to manage the Uchiha. These policies also sparked dissatisfaction among the Uchiha hawks, leading to thoughts of forcibly seizing power, which ultimately resulted in them being discovered by the Anbu and imprisoned.

This series of events gradually led to the negative reputation of the Uchiha overshadowing their past contributions, causing them to be disliked by the villagers. "I didn’t realize so much had happened..." Shisui realized he had underestimated the situation. "Actually, there were also Uchiha who worked hard to change this situation, such as Uchiha Kagami, who was one of the most successful."

Mu Yue shifted the topic to Uchiha Kagami. "So, Teacher Yuharu, what kind of person do you think Uchiha Kagami was?" Shisui suddenly became curious about how his grandfather was viewed by Mu Yue. He had never seen his grandfather in person but had heard many stories from other clan members about his powerful abilities and genius ninja status.

"A Uchiha with the Will of Fire, he became a bridge connecting the Uchiha with Konoha, easing the conflicts between the two sides," Mu Yue replied after some thought. Although there were no grandiose praises in Mu Yue's words, Shisui felt that it was the best and most appropriate evaluation he had heard so far.

"I want to become a Uchiha like my grandfather!" Shisui declared with determination, not realizing he had directly referred to his grandfather. "Grandfather?" Mu Yue looked at Shisui with some confusion.

It was only then that Shisui realized his slip of the tongue. He simply didn’t want to feel indebted; he wasn’t guilty for being direct. "Teacher Yuharu, you don’t need to worry too much about so-called gratitude. If you have time, just visit my grandfather's grave; I think he would be very happy." Shisui said.

"How could I not repay the kindness of saving my parents? How about this: Shisui, would you be willing to become my disciple?" Mu Yue asked. Shisui understood Mu Yue's intentions; he felt it would be unfair to Mu Yue. However, he did not want to see Mu Yue, who was so grateful, being put in a difficult position. Plus, he thought it would be quite nice to become a disciple of a knowledgeable and powerful teacher like Mu Yue. In the end, Shisui nodded and called out, "Teacher Mu Yue."

【Would you like to establish a master-disciple relationship with Uchiha Shisui?】 The system prompt appeared immediately, and Mu Yue chose "yes" without hesitation, as this was a talented disciple he had worked hard to convince.

【Relationship established successfully, current trust level two, unlocking "Disciple Strengthening Returns to Master" and "Teaching Returns."】 Mu Yue glanced at the introduction and was instantly overjoyed. The "Disciple Strengthening Returns to Master" meant that as his disciple became stronger, he would also grow stronger. The higher the trust level, the more feedback he received. Level two meant double returns; if Shisui increased one point of chakra, he could gain two!

"Teaching Returns" meant that when he gave Shisui something, the system would randomly return a reward to him. The higher the trust level, the better the rewards, limited to once a day. Mu Yue thought for a moment and took out a small booklet, handing it to Shisui.

Inside was the chakra nature transformation training manual for fire attributes that he had written in the afternoon. He had originally planned to find a suitable time to give it to Shisui to increase his favorability but now wanted to test the "Teaching Returns" function.

"This is the fire attribute chakra nature transformation training manual I summarized myself. Take it back and read it. I will regularly check your training results. As your teacher, I am very strict and will not relax my requirements just because of gratitude," Mu Yue said quite seriously.

If Shisui became stronger, he would also become double stronger, so Mu Yue felt he needed to supervise Shisui's training closely. "Thank you, Teacher Mu Yue. I will train seriously," Shisui replied sincerely as he accepted the booklet from Mu Yue.

Regarding Mu Yue's strict requirements, Shisui saw no problem, but rather it proved that Mu Yue truly regarded him as a disciple, not merely as a way to repay his grandfather's kindness.

【You have given your disciple the nature transformation training manual. Due to your disciple's deep gratitude, you received a critical reward and gained the fire ninjutsu: Great Dragon Fire Technique (Proficient Level).】

The moment he received the reward, a large segment of memories regarding his training of the Great Dragon Fire Technique flashed through Mu Yue's mind, as if he had trained this ninjutsu thousands of times. The Great Dragon Fire Technique is a B-rank fire ninjutsu that, compared to the Great Fireball, focuses more on flexibility rather than area and allows the user to freely control a fire dragon to attack enemies. Once mastered, it can be simplified to just one hand seal, and multiple fire dragons can be released simultaneously.

Since the system provided it directly at the proficient level, Mu Yue now only needed to perform one hand seal to instantly release three fire dragons. The way Mu Yue looked at Shisui was no longer that of a person; he saw him as an endless gold mine, the kind that could explode with coins every day.

Noticing that it was gradually getting dark outside, Mu Yue said, "It's getting late; let me walk you home so your family won't worry." "Thank you, Teacher. I can walk back slowly by myself; I'm the only one home now," Shisui waved his hand and said.

He felt he had already troubled Mu Yue enough today and didn't want to waste any more of his time. Hearing Shisui's words, Mu Yue recalled that Shisui's parents seemed to have never appeared, likely having died shortly after giving birth to him. He realized that the two of them, master and disciple, could not even conjure up a set of parents, which was quite amusing.

"But my uncle comes to take care of me often," Shisui explained, fearing that Mu Yue would worry. Mu Yue nodded and did not insist on walking him home. Today was just the first day he and Shisui had met; there would be many more opportunities to increase their rapport in the future.

On the way home, Shisui flipped through the training booklet Mu Yue had given him and recalled the fire ninjutsu he had seen upon entering the courtyard, growing even more curious about Mu Yue. As a well-known prodigy in the clan, and with his grandfather being Uchiha Kagami, Shisui had encountered many strong Uchiha, and his perspective far exceeded that of his peers.

He felt that with Mu Yue's strength, he shouldn’t be just a Chunin; it was quite strange for him to stay at the ninja school as a teacher. Ninja schools didn't require such strong teachers; they only taught basic techniques.

Mu Yue watched Shisui gradually walk away and felt increasingly excited about tomorrow. He had classes both in the morning and afternoon and wondered what rewards he might receive. Furthermore, in the afternoon, he would have a class with Might Guy and Tobi; what level of potential would they exhibit?
