Chapter 19: Unexpected Class Division, Yusheng in the Spotlight

Just as Nara Shikamaru analyzed, Yagyu had also thought about who his teammates would be.

Then, he used the process of elimination.

Excluding himself, the most important ones in the class are the Nine Great Powers.

Among these Nine Great Powers, Ino, Nara Shikamaru, and Akimichi Choji would definitely be grouped together.

As Nara Shikamaru said, their parents are too famous; the entire ninja world knows about the Ino-Shika-Cho trio.

Sarutobi Hiruzen would certainly not give up on nurturing the new generation of Ino-Shika-Cho.

This is evident from the fact that he arranged for his own son to be a guiding Jonin for the new generation of Ino-Shika-Cho.

After excluding Ino-Shika-Cho, among the remaining six great powers, Naruto and Sasuke have special identities, and Sarutobi Hiruzen would not separate them either.

The remaining members, Inuzuka Kiba, Yamanaka Shino, Hinata, and Sakura, are all very skilled at sensing.

However, among these four, Hinata, Inuzuka Kiba, and Yamanaka Shino come from prominent clans. Grouping them together and assigning an excellent Jonin to lead would satisfy their parents.

So, among the Nine Great Powers, only Sakura is the most likely to become Yagyu's teammate.

However, this would mean that Naruto and Uchiha Sasuke's Team Seven would have an open position.

If Sarutobi Hiruzen really assigns Yagyu and Sakura to a team together, wouldn’t that mean Naruto and Uchiha Sasuke would get a regular girl as a teammate?

Of course, Yagyu also had another guess: that Sakura was still assigned to Team Seven, while he would team up with two average-performing classmates.

Or perhaps… join the Anbu!

No matter which it is, Yagyu felt indifferent.

Graduation signifies the beginning of the story; the new round of fateful battles between Ashura and Indra has already started.

The fateful battle between the two Sage's sons will throw the ninja world into chaos.

No matter who his teammates are, Yagyu is confident he can grow quickly.

While Yagyu and the others were chatting, more students walked in.

Naruto's appearance surprised many, but they did not mock him as a group.

Unfortunately, the classic scene was missing.

Due to the absence of a girl he liked, Naruto, although still unable to stand the cool demeanor of Uchiha Sasuke, did not leap in front of him as he did in the original, nor did he perform the 'century kiss' with the help of his classmates.

Yagyu felt very regretful about this.

When all the classmates gathered, Iruka quickly walked into the classroom.

“Congratulations, from now on, you are all Genin.”

Looking at the students in the classroom, who were all present, Iruka, who had been with them for six years, wore a look of contentment. Then, suppressing his reluctance, he smiled and said, “But you still have a lot to learn. Before you can stand on your own, you need to form teams of three and learn from your guiding Jonin how to become true ninjas.”

“Okay, let’s start assigning teams. First team…”

One by one, names were called out by Iruka.

The students whose names were called showed expressions of either excitement or disappointment.

Soon, they arrived at Team Seven.

“Team Seven: Uzumaki Naruto, Uchiha Sasuke… Haruno Sakura.”

When Iruka read out the last name, Yagyu and the others' expressions changed slightly.

Sakura, who thought she had won, instantly froze the smile that had been on her face since the team assignments began.

Nara Shikamaru stroked his chin, slightly surprised, saying, “I actually guessed wrong; it seems the upcoming team assignments will be interesting.”

Yagyu was also surprised.

Could it be that he would really team up with two average classmates?

Is the value of the top student this low?

Or does Sarutobi Hiruzen plan to recruit him into the Anbu?

The next name Iruka called out further changed the expressions of Yagyu and the others, with only Hinata showing surprise.

Iruka continued, “Team Eight: Yagyu, Yamanaka Shino… Hyuga Hinata.”

“Ninth team…”

“Tenth team: Nara Shikamaru, Akimichi Choji… Yamanaka Ino.”

“I didn’t expect… my analysis was off by this much.”

Nara Shikamaru supported his chin and looked at Inuzuka Kiba, who was playing with Akamaru and seemed completely unconcerned about who his teammates were. His gaze held a hint of pity, thinking, “Poor guy, has he been abandoned?”

Excluding the already extinct Uchiha clan, there are six ninja clans in the class.

As he analyzed, the new generation of Ino-Shika-Cho had not been separated.

However, the Inuzuka, Yamanaka, and Hyuga clans that were likely to form a team had only Yamanaka Shino and Hyuga Hinata.

Inuzuka Kiba did not team up with Uchiha Sasuke either.

The only classmates he could team up with were other common students.

With only one clan member in the team, it indicates that Inuzuka Kiba's guiding Jonin will not be one of the highly regarded Jonin in the village.

Unless one of his clan members voluntarily applies to be his guiding Jonin.

Either way, it shows that Inuzuka Kiba has been 'abandoned.'

Even Yagyu did not expect that he would replace Inuzuka Kiba.

This is the strongest sensing team of the new generation!

Its importance can be seen from Sarutobi Hiruzen assigning Yuhi Kurenai as the guiding Jonin for Team Eight.

If the original Sarutobi Asuma hadn’t died and had lived to the Boruto series, he and Yuhi Kurenai, as a couple, would have been the teachers of the successors of the Ino-Shika-Cho, Yamanaka, Inuzuka, and Hyuga clans.

With such connections, even if Sarutobi Asuma couldn’t become Hokage, he could still walk confidently in Konoha.

In Yagyu's eyes, Team Eight, like Ino-Shika-Cho, was the least likely to be broken apart.

Yet unexpectedly, Sarutobi Hiruzen allowed Yagyu to replace Inuzuka Kiba.

Such boldness would clearly offend the Inuzuka clan, leaving Yagyu greatly surprised.

Does the Third Hokage really see potential in him this much?

Or… has Sarutobi Hiruzen been secretly spying on his training through the Crystal Ball Technique?

Can the Crystal Ball Technique even spy on what’s happening inside a house?

Thinking about the possibility of Sarutobi Hiruzen seeing him secretly practicing that ninjutsu at home, Yagyu felt a heaviness in his heart.

“Twelfth team…”

After reading out the last name, Iruka put down the roster. He glanced at the scene that they would never see again after the start of school, a trace of sadness flashing in his eyes, but he continued to smile on the surface, advising, “Students assigned to a team, remember to get along well with your teammates; they will be your companions in battle from now on.”

“Your guiding Jonin will come to take you away shortly. I hope that by the next time we meet, you will all be outstanding ninjas.”

After finishing, Iruka quickly walked out of the classroom.

No one cared about Iruka's departure, nor could anyone understand his current feelings.

All the students were looking forward to their upcoming ninja careers, discussing who their guiding Jonin would be and how strong they were.

“Congratulations, Hinata.”

Ino said enviously, “I didn’t expect you to be in the same team as Yagyu.”

Upon hearing this, Hinata lowered her head and twirled her fingers.

On closer inspection, one would notice her lips slightly curling upwards, unable to hide her inner joy.

Sakura, on the other hand, looked like a defeated dog.

She happened to be sitting right behind Nara Shikamaru.

Looking at the back of this ‘smartest brain,’ Sakura almost awakened her second personality on the spot and sent Nara Shikamaru flying with a punch.

After a round of analysis raised her expectations to the highest point, a bucket of cold water was poured over her.

This kind of drop… it hurts… it truly hurts!
