Chapter 6: Seduction is the Key to Success

“Xie Wen, hurry up, meow! It’s time to start training, meow!”

In a flurry of urgent calls and nudges, Xie Wen groggily opened his eyes and saw a pair of bright green eyes swaying beside him.

“Is it morning already?”

Xie Wen let out a big yawn, feeling a bit sluggish, which was quite rare for him after more than a month of maintaining a healthy and regular routine…

“I mean… you didn’t wake me up early, did you?”

Xie Wen grabbed Sanji Meow’s fluffy face and questioned him with a skeptical look.

Yesterday, to calm Sanji Meow, who wanted to see the beautiful Ailuro Cat big sister, he temporarily gave up explaining the concept of “another world” and instead promised that even if they reached another continent, he would find a way to bring him back to a place with Ailuro Cats. This made the little yellow cat quiet down.

In order to see the beautiful Ailuro Cat big sister as soon as possible, this little yellow cat actually started urging Xie Wen to exercise, even taking the initiative to propose practicing together…

Unfortunately, Sanji Meow couldn't quite replicate the original Sanji's fighting abilities, so Xie Wen had to hold back a bit during their practice. Moreover, most of the hunters' combat skills were meant for dealing with larger monsters, which made their practice feel somewhat awkward.

However, Sanji Meow's sparring was not without effect, as Ailuro Cats had an advantage in agility, and his small stature made his attacks more elusive. This was beneficial for Xie Wen's on-the-spot reactions in combat and for honing some relatively intricate combat techniques.

Given Sanji Meow’s behavior in seeking him out for practice yesterday, waking him up early today was definitely something this little yellow cat could do.

Sanji Meow clearly had no intention of denying it; instead, he planted his hands on his hips and confidently said, “Don’t worry, meow! I’ve already prepared a special invigorating soup for you. It can quickly help you regain your energy and is also good for your body, meow!”

“...Well, thank you very much!”

Xie Wen replied with a hint of annoyance, then roughly rubbed Sanji Meow’s little head.

Having been woken up, Xie Wen didn’t bother going back to sleep, and the little yellow cat in “for the big sister” mode probably wouldn’t let him off easily.

So, after giving Sanji Meow a good RUA as a way to vent his frustrations, Xie Wen got up and crawled out of the cave, then looked up at the sky, which still sparkled with a few stars, and sighed helplessly.

It seemed that whether it was humans or Ailuro Cats, being cute was the first productivity!

Even though being woken up early by Sanji Meow was quite annoying, who could resist how cute cats are, especially when they cook so well?

So Xie Wen generously forgave Sanji Meow, blew on the hot soup in his bowl, and started sipping it carefully.

Sanji Meow was indeed never one to boast about his cooking; after just two or three sips of hot soup, Xie Wen felt his previously heavy head suddenly clear up. The slight chill of the “morning” was dispelled by the warmth of the soup, and he felt rejuvenated.

After gulping down the hot soup, Xie Wen, still wanting more, served himself another bowl.

“Why didn’t you bring this out sooner?” he asked Sanji Meow, who was also holding a bowl and licking it clean.

“The catnip I found wasn’t much to begin with, and if it weren’t for wanting you to explore this island sooner, I wouldn’t have let you have any, meow,” Sanji Meow replied with some reluctance. “Also, this dish can’t be eaten all the time, meow. If you stay excited for too long, you’ll wear yourself out. At least I need to wait ten days to prepare the second serving for you, meow.”

“Cat… catnip?” Xie Wen's mouth twitched a couple of times. “Does this stuff work on humans too?”

He knew catnip could be eaten, but he had no idea it had stimulant properties for humans.

“It originally wouldn’t have any effect, meow,” Sanji Meow shook his head proudly, “but after my cooking, it has this effect, meow.”

Xie Wen thought for a moment; since Ailuro Cats could make various status-boosting meals from ordinary meat and vegetables, making an invigorating soup from catnip seemed quite reasonable.

Feeling a bit amused at continuing to dwell on such matters, Xie Wen finished the remaining soup and then got up to start training much earlier than usual.

After finishing the last of the invigorating catnip soup, Sanji Meow carefully licked his little bowl and the pot back and forth several times…

It seemed he really didn’t have much catnip left.

“I’m here to help you continue training your practical skills, meow!”

After finishing his “breakfast,” Sanji Meow once again stood in front of Xie Wen eagerly.

Seeing such an enthusiastic Sanji Meow, Xie Wen rolled his eyes in disbelief.

Previously, this little yellow cat, when not out gathering ingredients, was either lounging on a tree soaking up the sun or playing in the forest chasing bugs, and occasionally he would pester Xie Wen for grooming. Now, to figure out when he could see the beautiful Ailuro Cat big sister, Sanji Meow was practically a different cat.

However… it really did fit the character of “Sanji.”

Hopefully, this is really just another continent from the Monster Hunter world.

Because of Sanji Meow’s behavior, Xie Wen was really looking forward to what other Ailuro Cats with anime characters would be like…

Xie Wen remembered seeing a follower cat named Kakarot in the game before, and he had even given his follower cats names similar to domestic characters like Sword King Twelve Hate and Li Yuanba.

“There’s a gap, meow! First meat!”

Just as Xie Wen’s thoughts wandered, Sanji Meow seized the opportunity, leaping in front of him and executing a backward kick aimed at Xie Wen’s chin.

Coming back to his senses, Xie Wen quickly stepped back, narrowly avoiding the small black paw that grazed his nose while reaching behind his waist to unsheathe his Fresh Knife, Shiro Nagi, and swiped it towards Sanji Meow.

However, Sanji Meow just twisted in mid-air, dodging Xie Wen's swipe, and immediately launched another attack upon landing.

The two of them began to spar, paws and hands clashing together.

One had to admit, cats had a significant advantage in flexibility and agility. Even with Xie Wen’s absolute superiority in strength and speed, Sanji Meow was still able to hold his ground for a while and even occasionally managed to leave a few claw marks on him.

Unfortunately, Sanji Meow was just a chef cat and not a combat cat. Despite having kicks similar to Sanji, he fell far short in attack power. If it weren’t for training practical skills, Xie Wen could easily withstand Sanji Meow’s attacks and counter him.

Even without resorting to cheap tricks based on attribute suppression, Sanji Meow still wasn’t Xie Wen’s opponent. So after a while, noticing he was about to give out, Sanji Meow decisively jumped back to put some distance between them.

“Not fighting anymore, meow! I want to explore new areas and collect ingredients, meow.”

After saying that, he didn’t wait for Xie Wen to respond and quickly dashed into the forest, disappearing in the blink of an eye.

If he didn’t make a run for it, he would end up like last night, caught by Xie Wen and subjected to all sorts of hugs, kisses, and rubs…

Though it was quite pleasant, little cats also had their pride and modesty and wouldn’t let themselves be RUAed casually!
